Server administration
Your servers run, stay current and have verified backups. We take over administration of your physical, virtual and cloud environment, with monitoring and a clear SLA.
- ISO/IEC 27001
- 3000+ workstations
- Since 2017
A server left unattended is a problem waiting to happen. We keep the environment in order: updates, performance, security and backup, before a lack of response turns into an outage.
Scope of administration
We maintain physical, virtual and cloud servers under one regime: order, updates, backups and security.
-
Configuration and maintenance
Windows Server, Linux, directory services and applications. Order in roles, permissions and configuration.
-
Updates and patches
Controlled rollout of fixes and updates. Fewer vulnerabilities, no surprises after a nightly patch.
-
Monitoring and performance
We watch load, disk space and services. We react before users notice any slowdown.
-
Backup and recovery
Backups in the 3-2-1 model on Veeam, regular recovery tests and defined RTO and RPO targets.
-
Server security
Configuration hardening, access control and ransomware protection built into the standard of service.
What is server administration?
Server administration is the ongoing work of keeping servers healthy, up to date and secure, so that a company services run without interruption. It covers configuring systems and roles, rolling out updates, monitoring performance and looking after backups, whether the servers are physical, virtual or in the cloud.
Server administration for business covers Windows Server and Linux environments, virtualisation on Proxmox, VMware or Hyper-V, controlled patching, configuration hardening and ransomware protection, and backup in the 3-2-1 model with recovery tests. We work to an agreed SLA and also take over servers we did not set up ourselves, supporting companies in Warsaw and remotely.
A backup without a test is just hope
The most common mistake we see when taking over environments is a backup that no one has ever restored. A copy can run for years and look correct in the report, yet in a real failure it turns out to be incomplete or impossible to restore. The company finds out at the worst possible moment.
That is why we treat recovery as part of the backup, not an add on. Regular tests confirm that the data comes back, and defined RTO and RPO targets state exactly how fast and with what loss. That is the difference between hope and a guarantee.
How we care for servers
Changes made to plan and with the option to roll back, no experiments on production.
- ~15 minresponse to a critical outage
- 3-2-1backup model
- testsregular recovery drills
- monthlyenvironment status report
- Inventory at the start. We list servers, roles, dependencies and backups. We know what we maintain before we take on responsibility.
- Changes under control. Larger changes are planned in maintenance windows, with the option to roll back. No experiments on production.
- Environment documentation. Configuration and procedures are described and kept current. Restoring a service does not depend on one person.
Model rozliczeń
We bill administration as a monthly fee per server, matched to the number and role of the machines. The cost is predictable and known in advance.
Included
- Configuration and day to day administration
- Updates and monitoring
- Backup management and recovery tests
- Reporting and recommendations
Beyond the plan
- Migrations and environment expansion
- Purchase of hardware, licenses and vendor support
- Projects outside the contract scope
For virtual environments we recommend Proxmox, which lowers licensing costs.
Frequently asked questions
Which servers do you support?
Windows Server and Linux, physical and virtual environments, on premises and in the cloud. We most often base virtualisation on Proxmox, and we also support VMware and Hyper-V.
Will you take over servers you did not set up?
Yes. We start with an inventory and configuration audit, list the roles and dependencies, and then take over administration with full documentation kept on our side.
How do you look after backups?
We use the 3-2-1 model on Veeam, with ransomware resistant copies. We test recovery regularly, because a backup without a test is only an assumption, not a guarantee.
Do you provide support outside working hours?
For critical environments we agree extended support windows and a failure response mode. We write the scope into the SLA contract.
